Are you interested in being a performer, designing sets, or running tech and lighting for our upcoming productions? Then THIS is the club for you. No experience necessary, we have a spot for everyone!
Who can join? Students can join by auditions that are held a week before rehearsal starts (must sign up on Family ID). Members are expected to maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA and not accumulate more than 2 office referrals and/or 3 unexcused absences.
What will we do? Students will be introduced to various acting techniques, set designing, costumes, make-up, sound and lighting. Club members will have the opportunity to participate in a Fall and Spring play.
When will we meet? We meet two seasons, during each season we meet after school Monday through Thursday. A rehearsal calendar is provided at auditions. Not all members may need to be present at daily meetings depending on role and rehearsal schedule.
Spring Show: The Great, Great Granddaughter of Sherlock Holmes (by Jon Jory) will be performed in April. Dress rehearsal week will be April 24-27. The show dates are April 28- 29. Doors will open at 6pm and the show will start at 6:30pm. There are two acts for this show, and we will have two separate casts for each act! Below is what our show is about.
"Clever Sherla Gomes, the Great, Great Granddaughter of famous sleuth Sherlock, teams up with her loyal friend Lolo Watson to get to the bottom of some seriously mysterious happenings. In The Blue Diamond case, they have to figure out what an uncooked goose has to do with a missing jewel - and why Jenny the Scorpion is so dangerously irritable... In The Speckled Band, the girls must solve a high-profile murder involving a cheetah, and baboon, and an expiring inheritance. Performed separately, these one-act mysteries, inspired by the stories of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, are a fun spin on the detective genre."
