Kimmi Krueger Named Assistant Principal at Chief Joseph Middle School

Chief Joseph Middle School is excited to announce that Kimmi Krueger will serve as Assistant Principal beginning in the 2026–27 school year.

Kimmi has been part of the Chief Jo community for several years, serving as an Instructional Coach since 2022 and completing her principal internship at the school from 2021 to 2023. During that time, she worked alongside the administrative team on PBIS, student support, leadership meetings and safety planning.

She brings strong instructional leadership and a deep commitment to students, staff, and families. Before joining Chief Jo, Kimmi taught first grade at Tapteal Elementary for six years and served as a Learning Assistance Program (LAP) Instructional Specialist and Teacher, using data to support student learning and helping colleagues strengthen their instructional practices.

Kimmi has also contributed to district-wide work through the Instructional Materials Committee and the Social Emotional Learning District Committee, and through her mentorship of student teachers and new staff.

As Chief Jo welcomes Kimmi into this new leadership role, we also want to thank Jeff Ellersick, who is retiring as Assistant Principal. Jeff joined Chief Joseph Middle School in August 2021 and has served as Assistant Principal throughout his time with Richland School District.

Jeff leaves a lasting impact on the Chief Jo community. He brought more than three decades of experience in education, including service as a high school principal, assistant principal, athletic director, teacher and coach across multiple districts in Washington and Idaho. Throughout his time at Chief Jo, Jeff has been a steady and experienced presence for students and staff.

Please join us in congratulating Kimmi and thanking Jeff for his leadership and dedication to Chief Joseph Middle School.
