Get Ready To Head Back To School

Get Ready To Head Back To School

We’re excited to welcome students back for the first day of school on Aug. 27. Have questions about how to enroll your child, where to find menus for school meals or what school supplies are required? Check out the answers to those questions and many others below. Don’t see an answer to your question? Contact us at (509) 967-6000.

Visit the PowerSchool Online Registration portal  (Espanol) to begin the enrollment process for your child. All online forms must be completed before they are submitted. Consult our boundary maps to learn which school your child will attend and provide that information on the online form.

Once the online forms are submitted, we will contact you to set up a time to visit the school and provide the following records to complete your child's enrollment:

NOTE: Families seeking to enroll their child at the Early Learning Center, Three Rivers HomeLink or River's Edge High School must visit the school to begin the enrollment process.

  • Age- and name-verifying documents (i.e. birth certificate; previously verified school records or any other government documents; a religious, hospital, or physician's certificate showing date of birth; an adoption record, etc.)
  • Immunization record (View state immunization requirements)
  • Proof of residency (utility bill, lease agreement, etc.)

Families who lack Internet access at home may contact their child’s boundary school for assistance in completing the online enrollment process.

Questions? Contact your child's boundary school.

Free/reduced applications for the 2019-20 school year will arrive in mailboxes for known qualifying families by Aug. 9. The online application will be available Aug. 7. You will need your student’s 8-digit ID number for the online application.

Last year’s eligibility is good through Oct. 9, or until a new application is received. Applications are processed in the order in which they are received. Parents are encouraged to submit applications early. Applications received after Aug. 23 may not be processed by the first day of school.

Some families have been automatically qualified for free or reduced meals already through the direct certification process. If you receive a notification letter saying your child has automatically qualified, then you do not need to submit an application. Please check the letter carefully to make sure all your children are listed.

The following schools will provide free meals to all their students as part of the district's participation in the federally-funded Community Eligibility Provision. Families with children at those schools do not need to apply for free or reduced price meals unless they also have students at non-CEP schools.

  • Early Learning Center
  • Jason Lee Elementary
  • Jefferson Elementary
  • Lewis & Clark Elementary
  • Marcus Whitman Elementary
  • River's Edge High School

Families may download the So Happy app. for their smart phone for free to have quick access to menus at their child's school, including nutritional information and potential food allergens. That information is also available on the Sodexo website.
